April 2008 Gekatex SARAJEVO Converting and Distribution Centre open their doors ! Mr. Dario Balta , General Manager of the brand new Company announced in the local press the opening of a new converting plant under the name of Gekatex Sarajevo. With this new converting operation Gekatex France confirm their strategy to expand their operations in the Balkan and East Bloc countries and their committment to distribute locally their products in the region of Bosnia, Serbia – Herzegovina and Croatia with a focus on automotive OEM and car after markets. 5th March 2008 GEKATEX granted new buffing pads contract to VW Wolfsburg and continue their march into Asia to compete with Japan’s leading OEM suppliers. Gekatex top priority focus goes to the development of new polishing and surface treatment systems for automotive OEM. Thanks to competitive Asian sourcing structures and newest product developments , Gekatex has started first supply of newly developped buffing pads to VW Group in Germany and Latin America. First week of March intensive testing programs have also lead to the innovation of dual fibre pads with finest wool and microfibre technologies all combined into one single step polishing pads and compound systems. Coatings Association Convention Gekatex SAS participates actively in the International Surface Coatings Association Convention and First International Surface Coatings Practice, Training and Research Symposium The International Surface Coatings Association (ISCA) Founding Convention（Certificate No. 1129399 registered in Hong Kong on 4th May,2007） and First International Surface Coatings Practice, Training and Research Symposium.
